Kim Porter’s Last Family Outing Was Her Son Quincy’s Movie Premiere (PHOTOS)

Kim Porter tragically passed away at the age of 47 on Thursday, November 15th. She was the ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, whom she had three children with, and she was also mother to actor/singer Quincy Brown, her son with R&B singer Al B. Sure that Diddy later adopted and raised as his own.

RELATED: Kim Porter & Diddy’s Kids: Quick Facts You Need to Know & Photos of Their Family

TMZ reported that Porter’s last public outing with her whole family was the premiere of Quincy’s new movie, the Netflix original film, The Holiday Calendar. A special screening/premiere for the film was held at Netflix’s Headquarters in Los Angeles on October 30th.

Though Kim and Diddy broke up for good in 2007 (after dating off and on for 13 years since 1994), the pair remained close friends and were both on hand to support Quincy’s big night as a family.

The former couple’s children—12-year-old twin daughters Jessie James and D’Lila and 20-year-old son Christian—were also attendance, as well as Diddy’s 24-year-old son Justin Dior Combs (from his relationship with fashion designer Misa Hylton-Brim) and Quincy’s biological father Al. B Sure.

The whole family happily posed alongside Quincy in front of the poster for his new movie, which features Quincy and his co-star, actress Kat Graham.

Though Porter’s official cause of death has not yet been revealed, sources close to the former model told TMZ that she had been sick with flu-like symptoms (possibly pneumonia) for several weeks, which would mean that she was sick at the time of Quincy’s movie premiere, however, you can’t tell just by looking at the photos. Porter looked happy and proud to have her family together, supporting her first-born’s success.

The night of the premiere, Quincy shared a video from Netflix HQ on Instagram, writing in the caption: “Simply Happy! Premiere Night! #TheHolidayCalendar.”

In the video, he calls over his little sisters and mom, saying “I’ve got my fam here.” Porter smiles and throws up the peace sign before saying “Yes! So proud of Quincy.” You can hear her laugh at the end of the clip as Quincy says “I’m happy!”

Instagram Photo

Quincy also posted a photo of him with his mom and sisters as Porter leans in to kiss him on the cheek. He captioned that pic: “The LOVE is right here.”

Instagram Photo

Porter also posted photos of her and her family on Instagram in a gallery that also included individual pics of Quincy with his adopted father, his biological father, and his movie co-stars.

“When the Whole #Qrew shows up for @Quincy screening of NETFLIX Christmas movie HOLIDAY CALENDAR a must see…” she wrote in the caption. “I laughed I cried I got in the holiday spirit but most of all I got to see @quincy live out his Dream #proudmom #blendedfamily #netflixmovies”

Marvel Co-Creator Stan Lee Dead at 95

Stan Lee, the man who co-created Marvel Comics, has died. His daughter confirmed the news to TMZ. He was 95 years old.

SEE NEXT: #HalloweenFails: 30 of the WORST Halloween Costumes You Will EVER See!

“My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man,” Lee’s daughter told TMZ.

According to the gossip site, an ambulance rushed to Lee’s home in Hollywood Hills early Monday morning (Nov. 12) and he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he later died.

Lee’s cause of death has not yet been revealed, but we do know he has suffered a number of illnesses over the past year or so, including pneumonia.

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby started Marvel in 1961 with the Fantastic Four, and Lee went on to create Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and The Avengers.

Stan was also known for making cameo appearances in all of the Marvel movies.

It’s reported that Lee and Marvel had a rocky relationship after the company started re-making the comics/cartoons into big Hollywood blockbusters. He sued the company in 2002 for royalties he said the company owed him for the first “Spider-Man” movie. He settled the case three years later for $10 million.

Lee is survived by his daughter, Joan Celia aka “J.C.” His wife of 69 years, also named Joan, died of complications from a stroke in 2017. She too was 95 years old when she passed away.

Tyler Perry Says He’s Retiring Madea Character in 2019: “It’s Time for Me to Kill That Old Bitch”

The year 2019 will officially mark 20 years since Tyler Perry introduced Madea to the world. It will also be the year Tyler Perry kills off the hilarious, tough-talking, gun-toting character that everyone loves.

During a recent appearance on Bevy Smith’s Sirius XM show “Bevelations,” Tyler said he’s planning a farewell stage tour and will be releasing a film he shot two years ago called “A Madea Family Funeral” in 2010 to finally end the character.

“It’s time for me to kill that old bitch, I’m tired man,” Perry said on Monday (Oct. 29). “I just don’t want to be her age playing her.”

Perry also confirmed the news in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show.

“It’s time for me to bury that old broad man,” Perry told Fallon Tuesday night (Oct. 30). “I’m sick of that old bitch”

Madea, a character Perry has said was based on his own mother, as well as Eddie Murphy’s performance in “Nutty Professor II: The Klumps,” was first introduced in Perry’s 1999 play “I Can Do Bad All By Myself.”

Madea—whose “real name” is Mabel Simmons—is known for her comical and vulgar language, and she also has an extensive rap sheet that was highlighted in the 2009 film “Madea Goes to Jail,” which was based off Perry’s 2006 play of the same name.

The Madea film franchise spans 10 installments and has earned more than $500 million worldwide, despite some criticism that the character is a stereotype of black women.

While Perry didn’t reveal whether the funeral in the upcoming film would be for Madea herself, it can only be assumed that she will die in the movie considering his comment saying he’s ready to “kill that old bitch.”

Whitney Houston Shades Paula Abdul in Documentary Trailer: “That Girl Is Singing Off-Key on the Record!”

Whitney Houston was known for her voice, but she was also known for something else: Her hilariously shady comments!

Whitney was hella talented, but she was also hella funny. Remember when she went all the way AWF on Wendy Williams back in 2003? The entire 24-minute interview was full of gems, but one moment stood out more than the rest.

At one point in the “discussion,” Whitney basically told ole girl to “cash [her] ousside” and called Wendy out for her looks. Whitney’s words exactly: “If this were back in the day in Newark, I’d meet you outside” and “I’m sure when you look in the mirror you have some reservations about your look, too … I’ve seen you! I KNOW how you look!”

And we can’t forget that Diane Sawyer interview when, in response to allegations that she was a drug abuser, particularly of the crack cocaine variety, she got homegirl all the way together. “First of all, let’s get one thing straight,” she said while grabbing a mug of tea. “Crack is cheap. I’ve made too much money to ever smoke crack. We don’t do crack. We don’t do that. Crack is wack!”

Responding to rumors and tabloid headlines that she spent $730,000 on her drug habit, she then uttered the now iconic words, which we use in the blogs and on social media all the time to prove whether or not something is real: “I WANNA SEE THE RECEIPTS!”

So, yeah, Whitney Houston was a trip. This we know. But what we didn’t know was the stuff she said behind closed doors. And in the trailer for her upcoming documentary “Whitney,” we get to see a ton of behind the scenes footage, including a moment where she shades the fawk out of Paula Abdul, who was her industry rival at the time.

Whitney was sitting down with her mother, Cissy Houston, and was talking about the perils of fame when she brought Paula Abdul into the discussion. “Now, one thing, Paula Abdul ain’t sh*t,” Houston said. “That girl is singing off-key on the record.”

When I saw that trailer for the first time, that one line took me OWT, I tell you, and I will definitely be going to the theaters to see the documentary when it is released on July 6th.

The film, directed by Kevin Macdonald promises to showcase an “unprecedented, unflinching and honest” portrait of the late singer and it features interviews with many of her close friends and family members who were ready to spill all kinds of Whitney tea on camera.

But all of it isn’t full of laughs. One heartbreaking revelation from Whitney’s past was that she was sexually abused by her older cousin, Dianne Warwick’s sister Dee Dee Warwick.

RELATED: Whitney Houston Was Molested By Dionne Warwick’s Sister Dee Dee, Family & Friends Claim in New Documentary

Whitney’s longtime assistant Mary Jones claims that being molested by her older cousin made Whitney question her own sexuality and contributed to her problems with alcohol and drug abuse, though Whitney never spoke publicly about her own alleged drug abuse.

Jones says in the documentary, “I think she was ashamed… she used to say, ‘I wonder if I did something to make [Dee Dee] think I wanted her.’ I said, ‘Stop. A predator is a predator is a predator.’ If Cissy had known, she would have done something about it, because Cissy loves her children.'”

“We always wanted our film to be a corrective to that tabloid story,” said producer Simon Chinn. “These are specific revelations that I think will get people to a deeper understanding of who Whitney was and in many ways redeem her as a person.”

Whitney Houston Was Molested By Dionne Warwick’s Sister Dee Dee, Family & Friends Claim in New Documentary (VIDEO)

A new documentary authorized by Whitney Houston’s estate reveals the heartbreaking revelation that Whitney was sexually abused by her cousin Dee Dee Warwick—the sister of the legendary Dionne Warwick.

In “Whitney,” which was made with the cooperation of Houston’s family, the singer’s longtime assistant Mary Jones tells filmmaker Kevin Macdonald that the late singer told her that Dee Dee molested her at a very young age.

Houston’s own brother, Gary Garland-Houston, also says he was molested between the ages of 7 and 9 by Dee Dee, and believed his late sister was abused as well.

Dee Dee Warwick, who was 18 years Houston’s senior, died in 2008, four years before Houston died in a bathtub, which was in part caused by heart disease and drug use, according to a coroner’s report.

The shocking revelations come about three-fourths quarters of the way into the film, and immediately cast a new light on Houston’s troubled life.

Jones claims that being molested by her older cousin made her question her own sexuality and contributed to her problems with alcohol and drug abuse, though Whitney never spoke publicly about her own alleged drug abuse.

Mary Jones says in the documentary, “I think she was ashamed… she used to say, ‘I wonder if I did something to make [Dee Dee] think I wanted her.’ I said, ‘Stop.

Dee Dee Warwick was the niece of Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston. Dee Dee and her sister Dionne would sometimes sing in Cissy Houston’s gospel group, the Drinkard Sisters. Dee Dee Warwick, who earned two Grammy Award nominations in her career, also sang backup for Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin and others.

“Whitney,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Wednesday (May 16) is scheduled for a nationwide release in theaters this summer on July 7th, suggests the alleged incidents of sexual abuse took place while Cissy Houston was touring.

Because of what happened to her as a child while her mom was away touring, Whitney is said to have insisted on taking her daughter with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina Brown, on tour with her. Bobbi Kristina died in 2015 after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub and was removed from life support following a six-month-long coma.

Kevin Macdonald, the director of “Whitney,” gave a detailed interview about how he confirmed the shocking sexual abuse allegations just weeks before he finished the film in an exclusive interview with IndieWire.

“I had a sense that there was something like that behind it,” he said. “I’d watched her a lot. There was something about her discomfort in her own skin, something about the way she presents or hides herself, her lack of overt sexuality. She’s this beautiful woman but she’s very closed in her demeanor. I’d been watching her for several months and saying to the editors, ‘There’s something about her that reminds me of something.'”

WATCH: Marvel Releases “Black Panther” Deleted Scenes

Until “Avengers: Infinity War” came out last week, Marvel’s “Black Panther” was the studio’s biggest release of the year, earning nearly $700 million domestically and more than $1.3 billion worldwide. And now that the highly successful film is due for its DVD/Blu-ray release in the coming weeks, Marvel is treating fans by dropping not just one, but TWO deleted scenes.

Unbeknownst to many fans of the movie, the original project was a whopping FOUR HOURS long, however, due to time restraints (let’s be real, no one is going to sit and watch a four-hour long movie), director Ryan Coogler and co. had to cut the film down to about two-and-a-half hours—the finished product we all know and love.

Watch two clips that were left on the cutting room floor below:

“Black Panther” will be available on digital formats and on-demand streaming services on May 8th, and on DVD/Blu-ray a week later on May 15th, so if you weren’t able to catch the blockbuster film in theaters, you can finally watch it in the comfort of your own home then.

“Get Out” Director Jordan Peele Makes History As First Black Screenwriter to Win Oscar for Best Original Screenplay

Jordan Peele just gave the world another reason to put some respeck on his name.

The 39-year-old actor, comedian, writer, producer and director won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for his insanely popular “Get Out” movie Sunday night (Mar. 4) at the 90th annual Academy Awards, making him the first black screenwriter to receive the high honor.

In his acceptance speech, Peele—who received a standing ovation—dedicated his award to people “who raised my voice and let me make this movie.”

“This means so much to me. I stopped writing this movie about 20 times because I thought it was impossible,” he said. “I thought it wasn’t gonna work, I thought no one would ever make this movie, but I kept coming back to it because I knew if someone let me make this movie, then people would hear it and people would see it.”

He continued, “To the cast and crew, I love you, thank you so much. My wife, who supported me through this whole process. My mother, who taught me to love even in the face of hate. And to everybody who went and saw this movie. Everybody who bought a ticket, told somebody to buy a ticket, thank you. I love you for shouting out at the theater, for shouting out at the screen. I love all, thank you so much goodnight.”

Peele and “Get Out” were nominated for a total of four awards tonight, including best picture.

In the Oscars’ 90-year history, including Peele, only four black film writers have been nominated in the “Best Original Screenplay” category: Suzanne de Passe (“Lady Sings the Blues,” 1972), Spike Lee (“Do the Right Thing,” 1989), John Singleton (“Boyz n the Hood”).

Peele also made history this year by becoming the first black director to receive nominations in the writing, directing and best picture categories for his directorial debut. After his Oscar win, he posted a tweet suggesting that he couldn’t believe that he is now an Academy Award winner.

“Get Out” was a huge hit with critics and audiences this year and grossed $176 million domestically. The film, described as a “social thriller,” received praise due to its thought-provoking take on race issues in America.

Kobe Bryant Wins Oscar for “Dear Basketball” Film, Slips “Shut Up and Dribble” Jab Into Acceptance Speech

Kobe Bryant can add another huge accomplishment to his resume: Oscar winner!

He’s already won an NBA MVP, two Finals MVPs, Five NBA championships, three Olympic gold medals and now he’s won an Academy Award—something few probably would have ever expected from him during his basketball career.

The retired NBA star took home the highly coveted golden statue Sunday night (Mar. 4) in the animated short film category for his work as a writer and the executive producer of “Dear Basketball.” The 5-minute movie, which was also narrated by Bryant, is based on a poem he wrote for The Players’ Tribune in 2015 announcing his retirement from basketball.

In his acceptance speech, Bryant made it a point to slide in a little dig at Fox News host Laura Ingraham for telling LeBron James to “shut up and dribble” in response to James criticizing Donald Trump.

“I don’t know if it’s possible, as basketball players we’re really supposed to shut up and dribble. I’m glad we do a little bit more than that. Thank you, Academy, for this amazing honor. Thank you John Williams for such a wonderful piece of music. Thank you Verizon for believing in the film. Thank you Molly Carter, without you we wouldn’t be here and to my wife Vanessa and to our daughters Natalia, Gianna and Bianka…you are my inspiration.”

This is a historical moment for Kobe Bryant, who is the first NBA player to win an Academy Award. His former teammate Shaquille O’Neal even congratulated him on Twitter for his accomplishment.

Aretha Franklin Handpicked Jennifer Hudson to Portray Her in Upcoming Biopic

Jennifer Hudson has landed her next film gig and she’s tackling a true legend. J-Hud will portray Aretha Franklin in an upcoming biopic approved by the Queen of Soul herself.

Legendary music producer and executive Clive Davis unexpectedly revealed Hudson’s casting as Aretha during his pre-Grammy party. He also noted that Aretha handpicked the award-winning singer/actress to portray her on film. Hudson won an Oscar in 2007 for her performance in Dreamgirls.

Hudson performed a medley of Aretha’s hits at Davis’ Grammy party, including, “Think,” “Rock Steady,” and “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.”

Variety reports MGM has acquired the rights to the untitled film project. Scott Bernstein (Straight Outta Compton) and music producer Harvey Mason have signed on as two of the film’s producers.

Aretha has longtime pushed for a movie about her life. Back in 2011, she stated she wanted Halle Berry to play her. However, the Oscar winner declined, mainly because she doesn’t sing. “Someone should tell Aretha that I can’t do her justice,” Halle said.

Aretha further explained why Berry was her first choice in a statement she exclusively sent to Wendy Williams.

“I would’ve liked Halle Berry to portray the older Aretha in the upcoming biopic of my life based on my memoir, Aretha: From These Roots. She was my first choice, everything’s subject to negotiation, and she shouldn’t underestimate her own talent. There are a number of other leading ladies out there that can definitely handle the role. I never expected Halle to sing. She’s an actress, not a singer. Many actors have portrayed vocalists by lip-synching to the artists’ original recordings.”

Coincidentally, Williams suggested Jennifer Hudson after Berry took herself out of the running.

For the most part, Twitter seems pleased with the casting choice.

Oprah Winfrey will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 75th Golden Globes ceremony. The annual award recognizes individuals with “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.” Oprah will be the first black woman to receive the top honor since it was first awarded in 1952.

“As a global media leader, philanthropist, producer and actress, she has created an unparalleled connection with people around the world, making her one of the most respected and admired figures today.

“For generations, Oprah has celebrated strong female characters on and off screen, and has been a role model for women and young girls for decades. Holding titles such as Chairman, CEO and Founder, Oprah is one of the most influential women of our time, and this honor is well deserved, especially in this 75th anniversary year of the Golden Globe Awards.”

Oprah was first nominated for a Golden Globe in 1985 for her role as “Sofia” in The Color Purple. She also received an honorary Academy Award in 2011 for her humanitarian efforts.

John Heard Cause of Death: How Did the Dad From “Home Alone” Die?

Actor John Heard, who starred as the father of Macaulay Culkin in the iconic 1990’s movies Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York died Friday in Palo Alto, California at the age of 72. How did he die? What was his cause of death?

TMZ reports that Heard was found dead in his Palo Alto, CA hotel room, where police were called Friday for a medical emergency. He was pronounced dead on the scene, though the cause of death has so far not been confirmed, but Heard’s rep said that the actor had “minor back surgery” Wednesday at Stanford Medical Center and he had checked into the hotel to recover. The coroner is investigating Heard’s death, but police do not suspect foul play.

Heard was married three times. His first marriage was in 1979 with actress Margot Kidder, which lasted less than a week. The actor was also married to Lana Pritchard (which lasted seven months) and Sharon Heard, the latter of whom had a son and a daughter with, Annika and Max (who passed away in 2016). Max’s obituary stated that his father was not in in his life: “Max was in deep grief of not having a father participating in his life. We did everything to help him, but the agony was with him. He knew how loved he was by his mother, and sister, and his new girlfriend Maggie.”

Heard also fathered a son, John Matthew Heard III, in 1987 with his ex-girlfriend, actress Melissa Leo. Heard was arrested in 1991 and charged with third-degree assault for slapping Leo. In 1997, he was found guilty of trespassing Leo’s home in Baltimore, but was acquitted of charges of trespassing at their son’s school.

Halle Berry Says Her Oscar Win Did Nothing for Hollywood Diversity: “That Moment Really Meant Nothing”

Flashback to 2002: Halle Berry becomes the first black woman to take home the Oscar for Best Actress.

Acknowledging the greats, Dorothy Dandridge, Diahann Carroll, Lena Horne and her peers, Jada Pinkett (Smith), Angela Bassett, and Vivica A. Fox, Berry says “[This moment is for] every nameless, faceless woman of color that now has a chance because this door tonight has been opened.”

Unfortunately, it seems the door is still closed. 15 years after her win, Halle Berry remains the only woman of color to hold the Academy Award for Best Actress and this fact has left her “profoundly hurt” and “saddened.”

The actress opened up to Teen Vogue’s editor-in-chief Elaine Welteroth to discuss race and diversity in film. The two briefly talked about her historic Oscar win and because of the lack of progress, not only within the Academy voting process, but also in the industry, Berry says her shining moment was basically meaningless.

“Wow, that moment really meant nothing. It meant nothing. I thought it meant something but I think it meant nothing.”

She was also disheartened by the Oscars “blackout” in 2015, when out of 20 nominations, no person of color was nominated in the acting categories. “It was probably one of my lowest professional moments,” Berry said.

However, the veteran actress is becoming more proactive in making a change. She has conversations with other Academy members to contemplate ways to increase diversity. She also wants to serve as a producer more and try her hand at directing so that she can personally create more opportunities for people of color.

Most importantly, she says more stories centering people of color need to be told.

“Black people, people of color only have a chance to win [an Oscar] based on how much product that we’re allowed to put out. So, that says to me, we need more people of color writing, directing, producing, not just staring.

We have to start telling stories that include us. And if stories don’t include us, we have to start asking ‘Why can’t that be a person of color?’ ‘Why can’t that white male character be a black woman?’ ‘Why can’t it?’ We have to start pushing the envelope and asking these questions.”

While there is clearly more work to do, changes are already starting to be seen. In 2017, Moonlight became the first film featuring an all-black cast to win Best Picture. Mahershala Ali and Viola Davis both took home trophies in the supporting categories and five other actors of color were also nominated.

Warner Bros. Confirms Michael Brown-Inspired Film As Family Settles Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Michael Brown’s story will soon be told on the big screen.

Warner Bros. has confirmed the black unarmed 18-year-old who was killed by a white police officer and sparked a nationwide movement will be the subject of an upcoming film.

Mike Brown’s mother Lesley McSpadden’s memoir, Tell the Truth & Shame the Devil: The Life, Legacy and Love of My Son Michael Brown, will be adapted for film. A Warner Bros. rep confirmed the project Wednesday (Jun. 21) after it was first reported last week.

Development is current in the earlier stages. However, The Tracking Board reports the film will be similar in style to the 2004 drama Crash. It will feature the intertwining stories of several characters, including Brown.

Michael Brown was shot and killed by Ferguson, Mo. Officer Darren Wilson in 2014. Brown allegedly had his hands up and told the officer not to shoot prior to Wilson opening fire. However, this account has been disputed.

Wilson was not indicted on any charges, but Brown’s death sparked civil unrest and helped mobilize the Black Lives Matter movement.

Earlier this week, Brown’s parents reached an undisclosed settlement with the city of Ferguson in a wrongful death lawsuit. The settlement amount will be distributed between the two parents and their attorneys and was sealed to protect the safety of those involved in the matter.

The settlement also dismisses any other claims against those named in the suit, including Darren Wilson.
