Over (Dollar) 16 Billion Spent in Hospital Care for Firearm Injuries in the Last Decade

More than (Dollar) 16 billion was spent in hospital care for treating firearm injuries between 2000 and 2008, a new study presented at the American Public Health Association''s 141st Annual Meeting in Boston reveals. According to the research, 275,939 victims of gunfire in the U.S. resulted in 1.7 million days of hospital service - an average of 6.7 days per incident.
