300,000-year-old Cooking Hearth Discovered in Qesem Cave

Washington, Jan. 28: A hearth was discovered by Isreali scientists in Qesem Cave, near present-day Rosh Ha'ayin, that shows evidence of unequivocal repeated fire building over a continuous period, dating back to around 300,000 years ago.
