New Method to Synthesize Old Antibiotic can Help the Fight Against TB

A new method that can synthesize modified forms of an established antibiotic called spectinomycin has been developed by researchers funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health. The modified forms, unlike the original drug, can act against tuberculosis (TB) bacteria.
