A disease similar to swine flu broke out in the valley in 1978 and 1000 people have died. The reason for the out-break was the people who came and settled in the valley. The health officials reported that the epidemic had come through laborers and rag pickers who colonise most of the vacant lands and erect slums for their dwelling. The unhygienic lifestyle and susceptibility to communicable diseases may have been the reason as there has been no check on outsiders ...
