Death Stranding: Everything we know about Hideo Kojima's mind-melting new game - CNET

Hideo Kojima's new project, Death Stranding, has raised our eyebrows so much they're basically flying off our collective skulls.

Kojima has set a high bar for weirdness with the twists and turns that fans loved in the Metal Gear Solid series. Since departing the franchise, he's set his sights on a new project: the PlayStation 4 exclusive Death Stranding. Outside Kojima Productions and the halls of Sony, concrete details about Death Stranding have been relatively sparse.

In a tweet Saturday, Kojima confirmed a new, albeit weird feature, in the game. The Bridge Baby, or BB, worn by Sam (Norman Reedus) will communicate with the player via the DualShock 4 controller. What exactly the baby will say is still unclear.

After working our way through trailers, teasers, fan speculation and rumors galore, this is everything we know about Death Stranding. We've collated all the teasers so far, and dived into its world, the famous faces involved and a few of the gameplay elements.

What is Death Stranding?

Death Stranding is the first game from Kojima Productions, a studio founded by legendary game developer Hideo Kojima. After a rocky departure from Konami, where he built up the Metal Gear franchise, among other projects, Kojima started his independent studio and revealed the first title would be exclusive to Sony's PlayStation 4. The reveal trailer premiered during Sony's 2016 E3 conference, and sets the stage for the weirdness we're delving into.

Still confused? Don't worry. Ever since its initial announcement, Death Stranding has been shrouded in mystery. Kojima is famous for his unconventional promotional methods (at one point pretending to be part of a non-Metal Gear studio making a non-Metal Gear game) and for building strangeness into his games (see any Metal Gear ever), and Death Stranding is no exception. It's important to note that much of what we've seen so far is ripped directly from the game's cutscenes, as confirmed by Kojima

He's responsible for the scenario, game design, production and direction of the highly cinematic offering, while longtime collaborator Yoji Shinkawan, who worked on Metal Gear and Zone of Enders, is the lead on character and mechanical design.

Going by what's been revealed so far, Death Stranding takes place in a futuristic US that has been torn apart by a series of supernatural events called Death Stranding. Invisible beings called beach things, or BTs, that came from another dimension called the "other side" began decimating the population of the country leading to a destruction of the government infrastructure. Now called the United Cities of America, a government organization called Bridges tries to link the cities across the country together in what's called a Chiral Network, similar to the internet.

This is where Sam comes in. A former member of Bridges, he's asked to continue an operation conducted by the next president of the UCA, Amelie (Lindsay Wagner). She led the expedition to connect the cities, and in three years, Amelie finally made it to the west coast to Edge Knot City. It's there where she met up with a militant group call the Homo Demens who captured her. Sam is asked to take up the cause of linking the cities together and bring back Amelie.

Death Stranding release date

Mark it down in your calendar: Nov. 8, 2019

That date was revealed in a lengthy trailer that dropped on May 29 with all sorts of new info. That trailer can be seen below and features a ton of new footage directly tied to gameplay: gunplay, stealth and... ladders?

A Sept. 26 from Kojima confirmed the game has gone gold, meaning development has ended after three years and nine months.

The latest Death Stranding trailer

Every Death Stranding trailer so far

Kojima hasn't been stingy with Death Stranding trailers, dropping a number of teasers and extended cinematic looks at the game since its first announcement three years ago at E3. That first trailer (and a crowd going wild for Kojima) is below and features the first time we came to see the star of Death Stranding, Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame, as a naked and hunched over Sam.

The second trailer introduced us to famed director Guillermo del Toro wielding a baby in a portable tube and a terrifying Mads Mikkelsen, complete with goth eye makeup (OK, its not goth, but don't tell me he wouldn't fit the bill perfectly).

A highly cinematic third trailer dropped at The Game Awards in 2017.

Then bang! Gameplay trailer at E3 2018. This was our first real look at what players might be doing in-game -- so what did it reveal?

Gameplay! Death Stranding will have exploration elements and gorgeous vistas that bring to mind the best elements of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Decima Engine, used to build the game world, provides stunning hyper-realistic landscapes.

Yikes.

Kojima Productions

A teaser came at the Tokyo Game Show in 2018, revealing Troy Baker's character wearing a Gold half-mask and summoning a terrifying tentacle-lion beast. You can watch that here:

On May 29, a more action-oriented trailer for Death Stranding came out as more of the game is being revealed. Sam is seen using several items to traverse across the world. This trailer also gives some backstory to the Homo Demens, a violent separatist group that has captured the future president of the United Cities of America.

July's trailer for the game introduced Heartman (Nicolas Winding Refn). A member of the Bridges organization, he dies every 21 minutes and stays dead for three minutes before resuscitated. Heartman searches for his family in the three minutes he's dead but has yet to find them.

The largest Death Stranding reveal came at Gamesom 2019. In an almost half-hour presentation, more of the characters are revealed, including Mama (Margaret Qualley) and Deadman (Guillermo Del Toro).

Mama is another member of the Bridges organization who gave birth to a child that's on the other side. Although the baby isn't visible, she cares for it and it's this connection to the other side that prevents her from leaving the Bridges compound.

Deadman is the resident BB expert for Bridges. He explains that the BBs are taken from the body of their still mothers. They are then used to detect BTs and carried around in a pod. BBs are only in service for a year.

The Death Stranding cast

Death Stranding's most recent trailer gave us a ton of new information about the cast and the characters they are playing in game. Some of the names are classic Kojima. Here's the entire cast we have so far:

  • Norman Reedus is Sam
  • Mads Mikkelsen is Cliff
  • Lea Seydoux is Fragile
  • Margaret Qualley is Mama
  • Guillermo Del Toro is Deadman
  • Nicolas Winding Refn is Heartman
  • Tommie Earl Jenkins is Die-hardman (yes, seriously)
  • Troy Baker is Higgs
  • Lindsay Wagner is Amelie
  • Voice-over work provided by Emily O'Brien, Jesse Corti and Darren Jacobs

Norman Reedus is the face of Death Stranding. He's prominently featured in two of the trailers and plays a character known as Sam. What's up with Sam? Well, let's hear it straight from Kojima himself:

Sam is unlike any other hero you may have seen in games before. A typical hero is usually some sort of elite or someone with a military background. Sam is not. He is a working man of sorts -- a hands-on professional. Someone with a skillset akin to a blue-collar worker.

Reedus and Kojima previously worked together on the canceled Silent Hills project. If you're lucky enough to know someone with that project's demo, P.T., still installed on their PS4, drop everything and play it.

Digital Reedus has seen some things.

Kojima Productions

Reedus elaborated on his experiences with Kojima and teased the weirdness to come in an interview last year with CNET:

"It's mind blowing. He's a genius. He came out to San Diego for Comic-Con, and he had some stuff on an iPad that he wanted to show me. I sat in a little restaurant at a booth watching this iPad and the things he'd created, and I was just blown away. I was like, 'Whatever you want to do, let's do it. I don't even know what you're talking about.' It's unreal. People will do whatever he wants because he's a visionary."

Mads Mikkelson's Cliff appears to be an antagonist to Reedus' Sam. It appears the characters played by del Toro, Wagner, Seydoux, Winding Refn and Qualley will all aid Sam in his journey in some way. On the flip side, you have Troy Baker's gold-faced Higgs, who may have some connection with Cliff and Tommie Earl Jenkins' Die-hardman is surely just involved because of his excellent name. Little else is known about their roles in the story so far.

mads-del-toro-death-stranding

Kojima Productions

It's an intriguing cast, and Kojima said as much in a blog post.

"Although it wasn't my initial intention, we now have a cross-generational, international cast... Across countries, time and generations, we have come together to realize this vision. Coincidentally, this theme is strongly connected with that of the game, and is a theme I strive to realize as a game creator."

What do we know about its gameplay?

Kojima helped create the stealth-action genre with Metal Gear, so his area of expertise is well defined. But he's strayed into horror with P.T. and tried bizarre concepts with Boktai (a game that required you to take your Gameboy into the actual sun), so there's no guarantee Death Stranding will be MGS in a new universe -- though it certainly has that feel at the moment.

Kojima has persistently hinted at "ropes" and "sticks." Citing a Japanese play titled "The Man Who Turned Into a Stick," Kojima has said that he has focused on the idea that humans first invented ropes and sticks. Sticks are for protection, to create space between a person and harm, while ropes tie people to things they treasure.

"Most of your tools in action games are sticks. You punch or you shoot or you kick," Kojima told IGN upon the game's reveal. "The communication is always through these 'sticks.' In [Death Stranding], I want people to be connected not through sticks, but through what would be the equivalent of ropes."

In a later interview, Kojima hinted at Death Stranding's death mechanics. Players will be placed in an interactive purgatory, where they can gather items before being brought back into the game world.

"Death will never pull you out of the game," Kojima said, meaning that in Death Stranding, death... will never leave you stranded. *points finger guns*

Kojima has since expanded on the game, creating a new genre he calls "strand games." He says Death Stranding sequels may be necessary to refine it.

At this year's Tokyo Game Show, there was a 49-minute gameplay demo released, but it's in Japanese. The video showcases several elements of the game such as the user interface, combat and exploration.

Players will have to pay attention to multiple factors when playing, such as the weight of Sam's equipment, the demeanor of the BB and a number of "likes" that represent the connections he's making while delivering cargo. There's even a gauge for Sam's footwear as the more worn out his boots get, the more stamina he consumes when traveling and possibly falling down. When traveling, certain terrains and obstacles will slow Sam down and deplete his health or cause him to be swept resulting in cargo dropped and added stress to the BB. Sam also wears an exoskeleton called the power skeleton that lets him run fasters and jump across gaps at the expense of its battery that will need to be recharged.

Combat is a mix of stealth and gunplay similar to the Metal Gear Solid games. Sam has a small arsenal of weapons that can subdue enemies up close or take them out from afar. BTs will attempt to pull him under to the other side where Sam will have to fight them with grenades and guns making use of his blood.

Death Stranding has a multiplayer aspect to it similar to Dark Souls, where other players can help by leaving items in the world for you or appearing as white figures in the other side and dropping items there.

Too Short is First-Time Dad at Age 53! Rapper Welcomed Daughter With Girlfriend Sue Ivey Last Year

It may have taken a few decades, but it looks like Too Short has put his player ways behind him and has become a family man. The rapper has reportedly become a father for the first time at 53 years old.

Sources tell TMZ Too Short welcomed a baby girl with his off-and-on girlfriend, Sue Ivey. The little girl’s name is Yanni Shaw and is his first child.

But here’s the thing: Too Short has kept Baby Yanni a secret for a while. TMZ reports Sue gave birth to the baby girl back in December.

Too Short is about to officially introduce his daughter to his fans, though. The proud father is currently shooting a documentary with Ray J and his manager, David Weintraub, about raising their daughters in Hollywood.

Too Short has built an entire career out of his pimpin’ lifestyle, his last album even being titled The Pimp Tape. So, fans were a little stunned to learn that he was just now having his first kid, a daughter, no less.

Many congratulations to the rapper. We’ll all have to see how (or if) fatherhood affects his future music.

Borderlands 3: Zane gets a power boost, voice actor Troy Baker explains his removal - CNET

borderlands-3

Borderlands 3 launched on Sept. 13.

Gearbox Software

Borderlands 3 made its first appearance at E3 2019 during the Microsoft press conference on June 9. After months of anticipation, Borderlands 3 is now out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

A new patch for the game went live on Friday with Zane being the focus.  In the note, developer Gearbox Software says the Vault Hunter "lacked impact as players leveled up." Zane's Digi-Clone and Drone abilities received a significant damage upgrade that will give him a boost in the later areas of the game.

Prominent voice actor Troy Baker revealed Monday why he didn't reprise his role of Rhys, the protagonist of 2014 Tales from the Borderlands developed by Telltale Games, who makes an appearance in the latest entry in Borderlands 3. According to VG247, the actor says Gearbox Studios didn't hire him to reprise the role because the studio didn't want to hire SAG-AFTRA voice actors.

"No, it was simply a matter of they wouldn't go union," he told VG247. "And I can't do a non-union gig."

In 2017, members of the actor union held a strike over the working conditions and compensation for voice acting in video games. The union did come to an agreement with several game companies to end the strike.

When Borderlands came out 10 years ago, the industry and gamers took notice. It became one of the most popular and well-reviewed games of 2009, praised for its slick visuals, its silliness and its array of guns and items you could collect throughout its world.

Borderlands also ushered in a new genre by combining a first-person shooter, where you play the game through the eyes of the main character, with role-playing game elements and a heavy focus on obtaining the best weapons. Games that came after it became known as "looter shooters." They included titles like Ubisoft's postapocalyptic survival game Tom Clancy's The Division, the fantasy game Anthem from Electronic Arts, and the space battle epic Destiny from Bungie.

Borderlands itself has had several follow-ups, including the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2 in 2012 and the not so critically acclaimed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in 2014.

Like previous games, Borderlands 3 centers on Vaults, legendary tombs filled with treasures and monsters. Players control one of a rag-tag group of hunters chasing down a pair of evil twins with their own cult who want the power from these secret caches.

Borderlands fans didn't have to wait long after the game was announced in March for a good look at it. Gearbox held a one-hour reveal event on May 1 that explored the first hour of the game. Then in June at E3 2019, the developer showed off more of the game. On Aug. 14, Gearbox revealed FL4K, and more about the planets players will visit.

Here is everything we know about Borderlands 3.

Who are these jokers?

Part of the success of Borderlands is the group of characters, known as Vault Hunters, gamers can play as. The four hunters have their own distinct play style that has both pros and cons. They're supported by dozens of other memorable nonplayable characters, such as the loudmouth robot Claptrap and Lilith, the leader of the Crimson Raiders, who are chasing down the evil Calypso twins.

BL3 gives players four new Vault Hunters to play as: FL4K, Amara, Moze and Zane. Like in the previous games, each has their own backstory and reason to go on an intergalactic treasure hunt.

FL4K (pronounced "flak") is a beastmaster class who can control four different monsters -- a Jabber, a Rakk, a Skag and a Spiderant -- each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and three skill trees for each beast. The Hunter skill line gives FL4K a Spiderant Centurion as a pet and the special move called Rakk Attack that lets loose a pair of flying monsters that disappear after attacking. This skill tree focuses on making FL4K's critical attacks occur more often and do more damage.

The Master skill tree focuses on the pet, which in this case will be Guard Skag. There are multiple moves that will buff the Skag and increase FL4K's melee attacks. Gamma Burst is an action skill that will transport the pet and quickly revive them in a battle.

FL4K's Stalker skill tree is all about stealth and evasion. Fade Away is another skill to get close to pets while increasing their speed and healing. Other special moves let FL4K's pet -- in this case, a Jabber Sidekick -- revive and improves health regeneration.

As a Siren, Amara can summon a giant fist to lock down enemies called Phasegrasp, send an astral projection of herself called Phasecast and unleash her power on nearby enemies with a Phaseslam.

Zane is more of a gadget fighter: He can summon a holograph of himself called a Digi-Clone that can attack enemies; he can launch SNTNL drones; and deploy a Barrier for protection.

Moze is all about firepower. Not only can she equip some big weapons on her own, but she also has her own mech called Iron Bear.

Borderlands 3 Moze and mech

Moze with her mech, Iron Bear.

Gearbox Software

Unlike other Vault Hunters, who unlock new abilities via skill trees, Moze unlocks new weapons on her mech, which are called Hardpoints. Demolition Woman will deal extra damage whenever she uses mounted grenade launchers and rocket launchers on Iron Bear. For defense, players can decide to focus on the Shield of Retribution Hardpoint, which gives you a powerful rail gun and the Iron Bear Fist, a powerful melee attack. Then there's the Bottomless Mags Hardpoint that'll allow for regenerating bullets and add a flamethrower to the mech.

Gearbox says it has only four playable characters and no plans for more via downloadable content.

Not only are there new Vault Hunters, but Gearbox also updated the basic functions of the classes. Playable characters in previous games could only have one active ability available, while in this iteration the characters can use three abilities. As players level up, they can decide how to improve a specific active ability, which allows them to power up one over the other to make their character distinctive.

Gearbox also modernized the Vault Hunters by allowing them to mantle and get to higher ground easier, as well as sliding while running to get to cover faster. Shown at E3 2019, the new artifacts will add various effects to players' movements, such as causing a streak of fire whenever the character slides.

Gearbox added a little old-school fun with multiplayer. Borderlands 3 players can play both online and split-screen multiplayer, meaning you can play alongside your friend sitting next to you on a couch at home.

NPCs that fight alongside you can also be revived as well as revive players. There are also more environmental attacks available, such as oil on the ground that can be set on fire to damage enemies, instead of just exploding barrels all over the maps.

To Pandora and beyond

In the first two Borderlands games, players uncovered the secrets behind the Vaults, legendary caches supposedly filled with riches and powerful alien technology, located on Pandora. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel then had players go to Pandora's moon, Elpis, to find its Vault.

Now it's time to explore new worlds for the first time in the series. At E3, the developer showed one of the new planets to explore, Eden-6. The new swampy planet is much different than the rocky, desert wasteland of Pandora. Players will contend with new animal life on the planet such as the Saurians and Jabbers.

Borderlands 3 Eden 6

Players will make the jump to Eden-6 and other planets via their own spaceship, called Sanctuary III, and it does more than travel across the galaxy. The ship is a home base filled with shops, a personal quarters players can make their own and several characters from previous games such as Lilith, Maya, Hammerlock, Ellie and Mad Moxxi.

Athenas is another planet players can explore. It's an uninhabited planet except for a sect of monks, the Order of the Impending Storm, who are guarding a secret.

Promethea is the home of the Atlas Corporation and has big, futuristic cities. It's currently under siege by another weapons manufacturer, Maliwan. Atlas CEO Rhys Strongfork controls the planet and might be in need of some help.

Promethea is the planet where Atlas is located.

To bridge the gap between Borderlands 2 and 3, downloadable content was made available for free to link the two games. Called Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary, it's an expansion available to anyone who owns Borderlands 2 or The Handsome Collection. It was available for free for 30 days from June 9, but now costs $20. You play as any of the characters from the second game in the new original story and you can earn some new rare loot.

Gearbox revealed to The Verge that comedian and Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick will reprise his role as Vaughn from Tales from the Borderlands, an adventure game developed by Telltale Games released in 2014. Hardwick's character was a friend of Rhys, one of the protagonists of the game. His inclusion means Borderlands 3 could be the first of the mainline games in the franchise to crossover with the Telltale game.

borderlands-3-calypso-twins

The Calypso Twins.

Gearbox Software

Not-so wonder twins

BL3 focuses on a new pair of bad guys called the Calypso Twins, Troy and Tyrene. The two act similar to YouTubers and have their own cult, the Children of the Vault. They want to find the Vaults and suck up the power of the legendary Vault Monsters.

Lilith, the Siren from Borderlands 1, is out to stop the twins with her Crimson Raiders, a group of Vault Hunters from previous games and other characters who fight for causes worth fighting for. This is where the players come into the story.

Aside from the new bad guys, players will also have to deal with big bosses in the new Vaults that will have multiple phases during the encounters.

A kinder looter-shooter

A big quality-of-life change in BL3 is how the game handles loot. Being a looter-shooter, players have to defeat enemies and complete quests to get the best equipment in the game. In previous games, this means one legendary weapon drops from an enemy and players would have to decide who can pick up the weapon, or in some cases, one person on the team would grab the weapon and log off, better known as being a "loot ninja."

To address this, Gearbox created loot instancing. This means that when players team up, each will have their own loot drop from enemies that only they can pick up. For fans of the series who want a competitive loot option, they can choose to play on.

Loot instancing also lets characters of different levels fight against enemies of their own levels. A player with a level 10 character can join a level 25 player and the two will experience enemies at a similar difficulty with rewards on par with their levels.

Gearbox will also include a new feature called Dynamic missions. New quests can become available based on the progress of your friends. For example, if a friend finds a rare monster, a mission to track down the beast may become available to you.

Another new feature revealed at E3 2019 was the Guardian Rank. In previous games, players acquired Badass Ranks after completing certain goals, such as defeating a certain number of enemies or finding so many weapons and would be able to improve their stats. With Guardian Rank, players will unlock additional weapons, skins and abilities as they rank up.

At PAX West on Aug. 30, the Gearbox developers explained that Guardian Rank will be available after the main campaign is over.

Gearbox tweeted Sept. 12 that there'll be a few features available to PC users and not console players. The developer says Photo Mode and the Twitch ECHOcast Extension will be available only in the PC version of the game. The ECHOcast is a new feature for the game that lets stream viewers see the streamer's equipment and other in-game info. PS4 and Xbox One owners will have to wait for the Day 30 update to access both features.

Players are already coming across a variety of issues. A thread on the Borderlands 3 subreddit about problems with the game had more than 1,000 comments on Friday. The top comment refers to an issue with the game's inventory screen -- some players say images of items sold will still appear.

Another big issue players are having on launch day has to do with the intro sequence. Each playthrough has you sit through a seven-minute video and according to console players, it is unskippable. PC players, however, do have a way to get past the intro but it requires deleting certain game files. A Reddit post gives instructions on how to remove the opening sequence and go right into the game.

Crazy pew-pews

Like in previous games, BL3 has a ton of guns for players to find. New this time around is the alternative firing mode. Guns can now go from firing bullets to firing missiles, just with a press of a button. This will dramatically improve the variety of weapons available.

Another big change for weapons is having dual elements. A gun that has fire damage can also have another element like shock or explosive. There's also a new element called radiation that will cause enemies to explode when they die and irradiate nearby enemies.

The guns will also have other unique properties. A Tediore weapon can be tossed like a grenade or it can be placed on the floor where it will become a turret.

Players will also be able to customize their weapons via skins to give them a more personal touch.

For some of the best weapons, players will have repeatable missions available later in the game called Circle of Slaughter and Proving Grounds.

In Circle of Slaughter, players will face off against waves of enemies. The longer they can survive, the better the loot will be.

Another side event is the Proving Grounds. An Overseer will challenge players to complete timed trials that involve defeating three areas filled with enemies and a boss in less than 30 minutes. The faster the players can complete the trials, the better the treasure they will receive.

Mayhem mode is the third endgame content for players who finished BL3 shown during the PAX West Main Theater Show on Aug. 30. A terminal on Sanctuary III will be available after the campaign is over and will let players select three different Mayhem levels. Depending on the level, enemies will change in various ways such as making them immune to certain damage while increase their attack power. There is also a higher rate of loot that will drop including Anointed gear that will improve various actions skills.

Lastly, there will be a New Game+ option called True Vault Hunter mode. This will let players restart the campaign with their current equipment and levels, but enemies will be much harder the second time around.

Vaulted content

Gearbox has made it clear that BL3 will not have any pay-to-win microtransactions. However, there will be cosmetics available to purchase. There will be post-release content out in the fall and winter.

The first event, Blood Harvest, will include themed activities and rewards. Maliwan Takedown is the next content update that will include a new map, enemies and boss. There will also be downloadable content available with a season pass that Gearbox will provide details sometime in the future.

Borderlands 3 DLC

The list of upcoming downloadable content for Borderlands 3.

Gearbox Studios

The first episode of The Borderlands Show premiered Sept. 20, a week after the launch of the game. Paul Sage, creative director for Borderlands 3, came on to talk about the first free content update to the game, called Bloody Harvest

To partake in the new event, players will have to explore space in Sanctuary III to find Haunted enemies. This will unlock Maurice, a nonplayable character who'll be the guide for this event. Bloody Harvest has new enemies, cosmetics, equipment, quests, a new boss (named Captain Haunt) and two new guns including one called the Fearmonger.

Bloody Harvest will launch sometime in October and will have Halloween-themed enemies. Sage said it'll last for approximately a month and a half and that's it. Once it's gone, all the equipment in the event will go away.

Stacey Dash Arrested for Domestic Violence After Putting MAGA Paws on Husband

Stacey Dash was arrested over the weekend in Florida on a domestic battery charge after she got into a physical altercation with her husband and allegedly put her MAGA paws on him.

Police said the 52-year-old actress and avid Trump supporter was arrested Sunday evening (Sep. 29) in Paso County, Florida where she owns a home.

Cops were called to the home around 7:45 p.m. in response to a report of a domestic dispute between Stacey and her husband, Jeffrey Marty.

Law enforcement sources said Stacey pushed and slapped Jeffrey across the face following a “verbal argument.”

When police arrived at the scene, they observed scratches on Marty’s upper arm.

Dash was taken to a jail in Land O’ Lakes without incident. She’s being held on $500 bail and has so far not yet been released.

Stacey’s manager reached out to TMZ and said that the “Clueless” actress’ husband attacked her first, attempting to choke her, and she was simply acting in self-defense, which explains the scratches on his farms.

The manager said Stacey was the one who called the police, and the only reason why she was arrested was because her husband had marks on him, but she didn’t

Jeffrey Marty, who is an attorney, is Stacey Dash’s fourth husband. The couple just got married last spring in a secret wedding ceremony down in Florida.

Eva Marcille & Husband Welcome a Maverick, RHOA Star Gives Birth to Third Child

Eva Marcille is now a mom of three. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star just gave birth to a baby boy named Maverick.

People magazine confirmed Eva and husband Michael Sterling welcomed baby Maverick into the world on Friday. But more details have yet to be revealed. This is their second child together.

Eva announced she was pregnant with her third child in May and revealed she was having a boy a month later. A flower-themed baby shower soon followed.

“It’s amazing that God shared his most amazing superpower with us: the power to create and give life,” Sterling told People after Eva announced she was pregnant with Baby Maverick.

“I count it a great blessing to grow our family with the love of my life, Eva Marcille Sterling, and we look forward to welcoming another generation of hope into this world.”

The couple—who married in October 2018—also share 17-month-old, Michael Todd Jr., and Eva has a 5-year-old daughter, Marley Rae, with singer Kevin McCall.

However, Eva recently revealed that she has legally changed Marley’s last name to Sterling. It was a family decision made due to Marley’s strained relationship with McCall and so that everyone in the Sterling household would have the same surname.

Eva’s pregnancy with Baby Maverick will be documented on season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which premieres on November 3rd.

Switch Lite pulled into Joy-Con drifting lawsuit - CNET

The Switch Lite might have drifting problems.

Scott Stein/CNET

The Nintendo Switch Lite is now part of a lawsuit over defective controllers on Nintendo's newest consoles. This legal action comes just a little over a week since the release of the portable console.

Law firm Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith amended its class-action lawsuit against Nintendo on Friday to include the Switch Lite. The complaint, originally filed in July, alleges that Nintendo marketed and sold the Switch and Joy-Con controllers despite being "aware of the defect through online consumer complaints." Drifting is the named given to when analog sticks on the controller don't return to center properly, thus creating a constant input in a particular direction.

Since its release on Sept. 20, there have been few Switch Lite owners who've shared videos of issues with the portable console's controllers. In particular, the videos show a problem with the left analog stick. However, the problem doesn't appear to be widespread.

Nintendo began addressing the drifting problem not long after the lawsuit was filed. The Japanese company offered to fix Joy-Cons for free without a proof of purchase.

Nintendo didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Nintendo brings beloved Brain Age to Switch - CNET

Nintendo revealed a fresh entry in the Brain Age series for Japan on Monday, with a trailer featuring a bunch of people playing it on the Nintendo Switch. It shows them using the game's puzzles to keep their brains active.

The game has multiplayer options and uses some of the hybrid console's unique features -- the Joy-Cons' infrared sensors detect the shape of your hand in games of rock-paper-scissors and the number of fingers you're holding up to answer math questions. You can also write on the screen using a stylus.

It'll cost 3,480 yen (around $32) if you want the official stylus, and 2,680 yen (roughly $25) without. On its own, the stylus costs 864 yen (about $8).

The series kicked off with Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day on Nintendo DS in 2005.

The Switch game hits Japan on Dec. 27. Nintendo didn't immediately respond to a request for comment about the game's release in the US or UK.
