A 25-year-old man from Chicago is facing murder charges for killing a man he met in the chatroom of a gay dating site.
On the morning of Friday, February 16th, Marvis Boyd drove to the home of 31-year-old Pierre Kimbrough to meet up for sex after meeting online. Afterward, Boyd tried to rob Kimbrough, which sparked an argument and ensuing fight, and Boyd ended up shooting Kimbrough to death.
Boyd was arrested a week later on Feb. 23 and charged with murder in connection with Kimbrough’s shooting death. He’s being held without bail and was also served a $3,000 warrant for an unrelated criminal trespassing case.

After meeting 31-year-old Pierre Kimbrough on a gay dating site, Boyd drove to the man’s home in Dolton, IL (a village in Cook County) to meet up for sex on February 16th.
According to the Chicago Tribune, following the two having sex, Boyd tried to rob Kimbrough. The two got into an argument, a fight ensued, and Boyd shot Kimbrough in a bedroom on the second floor of the home. As Kimbrough tried to escape, he was shot multiple times outside the home by Boyd.
Dolton Police Deputy Chief Ernest O. Mobley released in an email that Kimbrough was found lying partially clothed in the driveway of his home. An autopsy showed Kimbrough died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Boyd was arrested on February 23rd and charged with murder in connection with the shooting of Pierre Kimbrough. He is being held without bail and was also served a $3,000 warrant for an unrelated criminal trespassing case.
Marvis Boyd has a young daughter and often shared photos of her on Facebook.
Boyd often shares pictures of his daughter on Facebook and in a post from 2016 said he was focused on working and staying out of the way.
“I’m fin to work this 9-5 and hustle. And stay the fuck out the way it’s to much going on out here,” Boyd wrote on the social media site.
Pierre Kimbrough’s friends and family said he was a kind man with a great personality.

“I attended SIUC with Pierre and noticed how amazing his personality was from the moment I met him. He was ALWAYS pleasant and kept a smile on his face. It is very rare to meet someone as described above, and I truly feel blessed that God allowed me the opportunity to capitalize on our friendship during our time in Carbondale. Continued prayers and strength are extended to Pierre’s family, friends and all that knew him. God bless,” Kimbrough’s friend Bridget Hunter commented on Legacy.com.
Another friend wrote on Facebook that Kimbrough was excited about a new job he had just received. “Can’t believe Pierre Kimbrough was murdered! He was such a good person and was soooo excited about his new job. This is tough!” Eric Donte said.
Kimbrough’s mom expressed her pain over losing her son.
Pierre Kimbrough’s mom Jacqueline was obviously distraught over the death of her son.
She wrote on Facebook: “LORD IT HURTS SO BAD…. I LOOK TO THE HILLS FOR WHICH MY STRENGTH COMES FROM.”
She also thanked all those who reached out to the family during their time of need.
“To all of my FB, Family, Friends, and McKay Family. My family n I would like to thank each n every one of you for ur prayers, calls, text, post, and visits in our time of need. To God Be The Glory ?? Continue to keep my family and I in your prayers.”
