Surfing Lake Michigan? Old news.
Watching a guy (in what has to be the thickest wetsuit available) stand-up paddle through icebergs on the frozen Great Lake? Absolutely fascinating.
Late last month, former U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer Karol Garrison took his board out for a quick jaunt at Silver Beach in Saint Joseph, Michigan, and filmmaker Seth Haley was there to capture the trek. Between the eerie silence and the iconic shots of the South Pier Lighthouse completely cast in ice, we can’t stop hitting “replay.”
