SURFING and Surf Ride have teamed up once again for Camp Shred 2015, the world’s largest surfboard, wetsuit, and surf gear demo. The event runs March 7–8 at San Elijo Campgrounds in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California.
Now in its third year, this annual festival-style event gives surfers and skaters the opportunity to test out brand-new surfboards, skateboards, wetsuits, and gear from the world’s top brands—for free. Last year’s Camp Shred drew thousands of people over its two days and hundreds of products were demo’ed, so expect nothing less from 2015.
This year’s gear is provided by industry heavy hitters such as Billabong, Captain Fin, Channel Islands, Firewire, O’Neill, Rusty, Sector 9, Spy, and many others at no cost to attendees. Get wet and try out the latest shape from CI, the newest curve from Sector 9 and Arbor, and recently released tech from Spy.
The event also features live music, food trucks, and a Saint Archer beer garden, where adults can sip on a cold one or two.
The warmth you’ll feel in your heart won’t be just from the newest Hurley wetsuit, either. All proceeds benefit California State Parks, specifically Friends of Cardiff and Carlsbad State Beaches.
Camp Shred is open to the public Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
